Summer Temporary Positions at Sötåsen

With the aim of developing world-class competence for a sustainable future and a good life, the Nature Management Administration drives education within youth high school, adapted high school, adult education, and vocational higher education. The Nature Schools Axevalla Horse Center, Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological Vocational School serve as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Together with the business community and researchers, the administration drives energy projects and experimental activities at the forefront of the schools. The Nature Management Administration is part of the Västra Götaland Region.

Description

In the picturesque Sötåsen outside Töreboda, you will find a center for ecological and sustainable nature management.

Here we run an ecological and KRAV-certified farm with a solid fleet of machinery and the latest technology for sustainable crop production. The school cultivates 260 hectares of arable land, 115 hectares of its own forest, and organic garden cultivation. The farm has 65 dairy cows, 60 young stock, 45 ewes with lambs, and 40 sows with piglets. At Sötåsen, you can study the Nature Management Program with a focus on agriculture, animals, and gardening. The school also has an adapted high school and adult education programs.

Responsibilities

As an animal caretaker at Sötåsen, you will work with the team to plan and carry out the daily care of the school's farm animals. The work involves primarily practical tasks in the barns with cows, sheep, and pigs. Tasks include milking, feeding, and daily routines. You will collaborate with colleagues in the team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, development-oriented, and goal-driven. You have a basic education in agriculture and experience in practical agricultural work. You have both good knowledge and a strong interest in farm animals. As an animal caretaker with us, we want you to embody openness, humility, and a strong willingness to develop and collaborate.

A driving license (B) for manual transmission is required. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

We are looking for two summer temporary workers to support our regular staff during the period 260601-260930. It is a vacation position with 100% employment rate, and the work is scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. There is an opportunity for weekend work or temporary positions already during the spring.
